Relief package for victims of ethnic violence in Assam in July, 2012

Prime Minister during his visit had announced the following assistance from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund for the victims of communal clashes in Kokrajhar and neighbouring districts of Assam:-

(a) Ex-gratia of Rs.2 lakh each to the next of kin of the persons deceased.
(b) Ex-gratia of Rs.50,000/- each to the seriously injured persons.
(c) Financial assistance of Rs.30,000/- each to the persons whose houses got fully damaged.
(d) Financial assistance of Rs.20,000/- each to the persons whose houses got partially damaged.

So far, a total amount of Rs. 49.8890 crore has been released for 98 death cases, 95 seriously injured cases, 15172 fully damaged house cases and 969 partially damaged house cases. The amount has been placed at the disposal of concerned District Collectors for disbursement to the beneficiaries.
