Relief / Rehabilitation measures in the Flood affected areas of Bihar (Kosi Flood-2008)

Details of relief measures and rehabilitation schemes sanctioned by the PM after the devastating Flood by Kosi river in Bihar are as follows:-

· Mobile Medical Units

Under this scheme an amount of Rs. 8.10 crore has been sanctioned for procurement of 45 Mobile Medical Units / Ambulances to provide medical relief to the victims. Rs. 6.40 crore has been released.

· Flood Shelters

Rs. 84 crore has been sanctioned for construction of 200 flood shelters in 200 villages of Bihar. These flood shelters would also serve as community halls. Rs. 20 crore has been released to the state government.
