PM releases volume in the honour of Prof. A.M. Khusro

The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh described late Prof. A.M. Khusro a dominant influence on the economic policy paradigm of our country. Releasing a volume "Indian Economy and Society in the era of Globalisation and Liberalisation: Essays in honour of Professor A.M. Khusro", the Prime Minister termed Professor Khusro a scholar, economist and administrator who also dabbled in journalism with great aplomb. The volume has been edited by Prof. C.H. Hanumantha Rao, Prof. B.B. Bhattacharya and Prof. N.S. Siddhartan.

Recalling Prof. Khusro's contribution in the fields of study of poverty and reformation of banking system, Dr. Manmohan Singh said Prof. Khuso practised the art and science of economy with keeping the social impact of the discipline in mind. His role in controlling inflation during early 1970s is still a source of inspiration for the economic policy planners of India, Dr. Singh added.
