Text of PM's letter to President regarding vote of confidence

Following is the full text of the letter written by the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, to Hon'ble President of India -

"I acknowledge the receipt of your letter of 9 July, 2008 informing me about the letters submitted to you by four left parties withdrawing support to the UPA Government headed by me and a letter of Samajwadi Party reiterating support to the Government.

My colleagues in the Government and I are keen to seek a vote of confidence in the Lok Sabha as early as possible. As for the precise date on which the Lok Sabha may be summoned for this purpose, I shall communicate it to you by tomorrow evening."
