The Karnataka Chief Minister Mr. Yeddyurappa made a courtesy call on Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh today. Dr. Singh congratulated Mr. Yeddyurappa and assured him that the central government will continue to provide all support for Karnataka's development. He urged the state government to take active interest in the implementation of the various development programmes launched by the central government including the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, the National Rural Health Mission, and the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission.
The Prime Minister assured the Chief Minister of support for infrastructure development in the state and said that Bangalore city is a national asset for India and is internationally recognized for its enterprise and creativity. He said the development of Bangalore is a national priority and the Central Government will do what ever is necessary for its development.
