PM condoles the death of Dom Moraes

The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has expressed grief over the demise of noted poet, writer and journalist Dom Moraes.

In a message, the Prime Minister said that Dom Moraes was a rare literary figure, at home both in the lyricism of mysterious and imaginative verse and the sharpness of effectively elegant prose. His mastery over words enabled him to produce evocative and haunting phrases. His candour, compassion and his generosity as a mentor earned him the respect of an entire generation of poets. His legacy in Indian literature will be an enduring one, Dr. Manmohan Singh added.
