A delegation from Punjab met with the PM

A delegation of Congress party leaders from Punjab led by Mrs. Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, including Union Cabinet Minister, Mrs. Ambika Soni, called on the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh and complemented him for the various steps taken in the interests of the farming community.

The delegation hailed the Government's decision to increase the Minimum Support Price for wheat by 33 % to Rs 1,000 per quintal. They also welcomed the decision to increase the procurement price for paddy. The delegation conveyed the gratitude of the farming community to the Prime Minister.
