PM Condoles on the passing away of Dr. L. M. Singhvi

The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh has condoled the passing away of Dr. L. M. Singhvi.

In his condolence message to his son Dr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Member of Parliament, the Prime Minister has said, "I was deeply grieved to hear of the shocking news of your father's passing away. Please accept my heartfelt condolences and convey to all members of your family our sentiments.

Gursharan and I knew Shri L.M. Singhvi personally and have had the highest regard and affection for him. He was one of our most distinguished jurists, constitutional experts and legal minds. More importantly, he was a great scholar who had a deep understanding of our ethos, our culture and our civilisational values. He also proved to be a highly regarded diplomat and Member of Parliament. His absence will be deeply felt in the world of public affairs. I hope you will face this tragedy with forbearance and courage. I am sure you will take your father's good work forward."
