PM constitutes GoM for 350th Anniversary of Taj Mahal

The 350th anniversary of the Taj Mahal will be celebrated on a national scale. The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has constituted a Group of Ministers to identify, approve and put in motion all the events that are thought fit to commemorate the 350th anniversary of the Taj Mahal. The necessary financial allocations, Ministry-wise and Government-wise, would be considered and approved by this GoM. Events for the celebration will be planned as to ensure that there is no damage to the structure and its environment.

The GoM will function under the Chairmanship of Minister of Human Resource Development and will consist of:

1. Minister of Tourism

2. Minister of Culture

3. Minister of Environment & Forests and

4. Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh

The GoM is scheduled to have its first meeting next week.
