PM sanctions assistance to brave child, Master Ankit

The Prime Minister has sanctioned an ex-gratia of Rupees one lakh from the Prime Minister's Relief Fund to Master Ankit of Faridabad, aged seven years, who was kidnapped and escaped from his kidnappers. Master Ankit exhibited bravery under extreme stress leading to ensuring the arrest of the kidnappers.

The Prime Minister has also approved taking over of the cost of immediate medical assistance. The Prime Minister has further approved provision of assistance for artificial limb through the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

The ex-gratia would be kept in a fixed deposit in the name of the child, with interest income for use of his parents and the amount would be given to the child on his attaining 18 years of age.
