PM congratulates Dr. Muhammad Yunus on winning Nobel Peace prize

The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh has congratulated Dr. Muhammad Yunus on winning Nobel Peace Prize. In his letter to Dr. Yunus, he said :

"Please accept my warmest congratulations on your being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

This due and just honour that has been conferred upon you is a recognition of the immense contribution that you personally and Grameen Bank have made to the cause of peace and development. The revolution you have ushered in by bringing the banking system to the doors of the poor and the underprivileged has brought about peaceful social and economic transformation in the lives of millions of your borrowers.

On behalf of the people of India and on my own behalf, I salute this magnificent achievement that has brought honour and pride not only to Bangladesh but to all people of South Asia."
