Freedom Fighters call on Prime Minister

The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has said that it was time for the people to come together to fight against communal forces that tried to divide people in the name of religion and stand united to achieve the fruits of freedom. Speaking to the freedom fighters who called on him today on the occasion of August Kranti Diwas, the Prime Minister called upon people to stand united in the fight against poverty. He recalled the services of Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel and other freedom fighters. He called upon the people to emulate the examples of the freedom fighters in achieving the goals before the nation and strengthening the unity and integrity of the country.
