PM greets people on New Year

The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has greeted the people on the eve of the joyous occasion of New Year. In his new year message, the Prime Minister said the New Year is an opportunity to make a fresh beginning and to renew our resolve to strive for individual as well as collective growth. The resolute will of the people helped the nation tide over several formidable obstacles posed by nature during the past year and the nation took several confident steps to meet other economic and social challenges.

The Prime Minister said, there is a need to maintain the momentum towards higher economic growth, social development and overall progress of the nation in the year ahead.

May the year 2006 bring prosperity, health and happiness to all, Dr. Manmohan Singh added.
