PM greets nation on Diwali

The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. In a message, the Prime Minister said that Diwali is an important occasion for festivities, all-round joy and togetherness. Its underlying message of victory of good over evil should guide us in all our endeavours.

This week is a special one, as Diwali and Id-ul-Fitr are celebrated across the country with gaiety and fervour. It is hoped that these festivals would further cement bonds between various communities.

May the festival of lights this year usher in peace, prosperity and happiness for all, the Prime Minister added.
