PM greets people on Id-Ul-Fitr

The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of Id-ul-Fitr.

In a message, Dr. Singh said that the festival of Id-ul-Fitr at the end of the pious month of Ramadan, symbolizes austerity, brotherhood and a spirit of sharing. This national festival reflects the true spirit of our composite culture. May Id this year bring happiness, prosperity and peace everywhere. "My heart goes out to the victims of recent tragedies such as earthquake in Jammu and Kashmir, train accident in Andhra Pradesh and the bomb blasts in Delhi. I hope that Id-ul-Fitr will bring solace and strength to the families of the victims", the Prime Minister added.
