PM constitutes Task Force on "Global Strategic Developments"

Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has constituted a Task Force on "Global Strategic Developments", under the Chairmanship of Shri. K Subrahmanyam, a distinguished strategic affairs analyst.

The members of the Task Force include: Professor P Rama Rao, former chairman, Atomic Energy Regulatory Board; Dr R K Pachauri, director, The Energy & Resources Institute; Dr Arvind Virmani, director, Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations; Shri Tarun Das, former director-general, CII; Air Marshal (Retd.) Vinod Patney; Professor M S Ananth, director, IIT-Madras; Shri Amitabh Mattoo, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu; Cmde Uday Bhaskar, deputy Director-General Institute of Defence Studies & Analysis, who will also function as Member-Secretary of the Task Force.

The Task Force will examine various aspects of global trends in Strategic affairs. It will be serviced by the National Security Council Secretariat and is expected to submit its report within six months.
