Prime Minister's grief at loss of lives in Satara

The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has expressed his shock and grief over the death of a large number of devotees in a stampede at a temple in Satara in Maharashtra.

In a message to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, the Prime Minister has requested him to convey his sympathy and condolences to the bereaved families and wished speedy recovery to all those who were injured. Dr. Singh has also requested the Chief Minister to take all necessary measures to provide relief to the affected.
