PM condoles the passing away of R. P. Goenka

The Prime Minister has condoled the passing away of  industrialist R. P. Goenka. Dr. Manmohan  Singh in a condolence message to Smt. Sushila  Devi Goenka  described  Mr. R. P. Goenka as one of the most respected  leaders of Indian industry and an institution among his peers.

The text of The Prime Minister's condolence message is as follows:

"It was with profound grief that I received the news of the passing away of Shri R. P. Goenka.

Shri Goenka was among the most respected leaders of Indian industry and an institution among his peers. He contributed greatly to the progress of industry in West Bengal and the country as a whole. I recall my own personal association with him, during which I benefited greatly from his views.

On this sad occasion, I offer my sincerest condolences to you and other members of the family. May God grant you the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss."
