Prime Minister's birthday greetings to President

The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has greeted President Abdul Kalam on his birthday today. Regretting his inability to extend his greetings in person owing to the President's visit to Karnataka and Gujarat, the Prime Minister said that the people would always cherish Dr Kalam's contributions to the country and wished him many more years of distinguished service to the nation.

The Prime Minister spoke to the President over phone and sent him a bouquet of flowers.
