PM condoles the passing away of Dr. Ram Dayal Munda

The Prime Minister has condoled the passing away of Parliamentarian Dr. Ram Dayal Munda. In a messsage to the the wife of the departed leader Srimathi Amita Munda, Dr. Manmohan Singh said that Dr. Ram Dayal Munda will be remembered as a multifaceted personality who contributed immensely to the welfare of tribal communities and the poor and marginalized sections of our society.

The Prime Minister's message is as follows:

"I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing away of your husband, Dr. Ram Dayal Munda.

Dr. Munda will be remembered as a multifaceted personality who contributed immensely to the welfare of tribal communities and the poor and marginalized sections of our society. He was a very prominent tribal leader and campaigned vigorously for tribal rights all his life. He was also a musician and eminent educationist who had a distinguished term as Vice Chancellor, Ranchi University. At the time of his sad demise, Dr. Munda was serving as a member of the Rajya Sabha and the National Advisory Council.

I convey my sincere condolences to you and other members of the family and Dr. Munda's numerous friends and admirers on this sad occasion."
