As directed by the Prime Minister, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister and Union Home Secretary, visited Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital today and met those injured in the bomb blast which took place at Delhi High Court yesterday.
A total of 57 persons were brought to the hospital out of which 9 were brought dead and 3 died during the treatment. There are a total of 33 patients undergoing treatment in the hospital as of now, out of which 19 are in ICU.
Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister and the Home Secretary reviewed the existing arrangements in the hospital and talked to the patients and their relatives who have expressed satisfaction over the care being taken by the hospital staff and administration.
At the instance of his kin, one patient was decided to be transferred to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences for microvascular surgery.
It has been made clear to the RML Hospital administration that if any experts are required from outside, they shall be provided immediately to them. The Medical Superintendent of RML Hospital stated that whatever medicine was required, was being provided and there was no dearth of funds for medicines.
It has been decided that a Facilitation Team will be placed in Dr. RML Hospital under the overall supervision of Joint Secretary (UT) and with members from Delhi Administration and MHA to facilitate and coordinate with RML Hospital authorities for providing experts and for interacting with kin of the injured. It would also look into the needs of patients requiring different type of assistance. The Team would prepare the list of those in capacitated who require rehabilitation. The Facilitation team will remain in touch with the kin of patients and facilitate their requirements on urgent basis.
