PM condoles demise of Shobha Gurtu

The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh has expressed sorrow at the passing away of Smt. Shobha Gurtu, noted classical singer.

Conveying his condolences to the members of the bereaved family, the Prime Minister said that the late Smt. Gurtu's mellifluous voice enchanted generations of music lovers - professionals and amateurs alike, Dr. Manmohan Singh said.

In her passing away, the world of classical music has lost an exceptional singer and a fine human being, the Prime Minister added.
