PM's comments on the Railway Budget

The Railway Minister has done a commendable job of reconciling various claims and expectations. It is a common man's budget, it avoids increase in freight and passenger fares thereby it will help to weaken the cost push element of inflationary expectation.

At the same time, the Railway Minister has taken good care to increase the investment in critical areas of Railway infrastructure thereby sustaining the growth momentum of the economy.
