PM greets Chilean President on rescue of Miners

The Prime Minister has greeted Chilean President Sebastian Pinera Echenique on the successful rescue of the 33 miners who were trapped for 69 days in the San Jose mine.

The Prime Minister in letter to President Enchenique said we rejoice with the people of Chile that the miners are free safe and reunited with their dear and loved ones.

The text of the Prime Minister's letter is as follows :

"Please accept my warm felicitations on the splendid and successful rescue of the 33 miners. We rejoice with the people of Chile that they are free, safe and reunited with their dear and loved ones. We have watched with admiration the courage and fortitude displayed by the miners and their families throughout this long ordeal, and your personal leadership over the last several weeks."
