The Prime Minister's Office has noted a PTI story about the arrest of one Manmohan Singh posing as Political Advisor to the Prime Minister.

In the last few years there have been reports of this person using the name of the Prime Minister and trying to create an impression that he is close to the Prime Minister. Whenever such claims came to our notice, these were refuted.

It is clarified that the person referred to in the PTI story has no official or unofficial link with the Prime Minister or this Office.

All public functionaries should exercise necessary caution when entertaining any claims made by this person.
