PM condoles the passing away of Janeshwar Mishra

The Prime Minister has condoled the passing away of veteran Socialist leader and member of Parliament Shri Janeshwar Mishra. The PM in his condolence message to Srimati Shanti Mishra daughter of the late leader has described Shri Mishra as a leader who fought for the cause of the for the socially backward classes and poor.

The text of the Prime Minister's condolence message is as follows:

"I am deeply saddened to know about the demise of your father Shri Janeshwar Mishra Ji.

Shri Janeshwar Mishra Ji was among the senior most political leaders of our country. Throughout his long political career , he worked tirelessly for the welfare of poor and socially and economically backward sections of the society. Known as Chote Lohiya for his commitment to the social ideology, he earned the respect of all the political parties for his compassion towards the poor and oppressed sections of the society.

Shri Mishra was elected four times for the Lok Sabha and served as a Union Minister in different capacities. He was also elected to the Rajya Sabha for three consecutive terms. His contribution as a parliamentarian and a minister will be remembered forever.

In this hour of grief, I express my heartfelt sympathies to the family members, his well wishers and his followers.

May his soul rest in peace."
