PM announces ex-gratia for Kerala tanker accident victims

Responding to requests from the Leader of the Opposition Shri Oommen Chandy, the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee President Shri Ramesh Chennithala and Shri K.C. Venugopal, MP who called on him at the Kerala Raj Bhawan today, the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has sanctioned an ex-gratia payment of Rs.1 lac each to the next of kin of the deceased in the LPG Tanker Fire accident near Karunagapalli on 31st December, 2009 from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund. Those who were seriously injured will get an ex-gratia payment of Rs.50,000 each.

The Prime Minister has conveyed his heart-felt sympathies to the families of the deceased and his good wishes for speedy recovery to the injured.
