The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh has greeted the nation on the joyous and auspicious occasion of Janmashtami.

In a message, the Prime Minister said that Lord Krishna's message of 'nishkam karma' has come to occupy an enhanced relevance in today's materialistic world. May the occasion of Janmashtami continue to pave the way for mankind the world over and inspire people to instill virtues of equanimity, compassion and love for fellow beings, Dr. Singh added.
