PM conveys heartfelt condolences on assassination of Mr. Ahmad Wali Karzai

In a letter to President H.E. Hamid Karzai, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh expressed 'deep sorrow and shock' at the 'sad news of the tragic assassination' of Mr. Ahmad Wali Karzai.

The Prime Minister conveyed heartfelt condolences, on behalf of the people and Government of India and on his own behalf to President Karzai, adding that 'Apart from your personal bereavement, the people of Afghanistan have lost a prominent public figure. In this difficult hour, our thoughts and prayers are with you, your family and the people of Afghanistan'.
