Inter Ministerial Kashmiri migrants rehabilitation committee constituted

As a follow- up to the Prime Minister's visit to J&K and his assurance to Kashmiri migrants at the camp in Jammu the Prime Minister's Office has constituted an inter ministerial team for preparing a plan to rehabilitate Kashmiri migrants.

The team will prepare the rehabilitation plan after visiting the migrant camps and discussions with the migrants taking into account, among others, means of livelihood education, health and the security of women.

The three member team will be led by Principal Advisor (in charge of J&K), Planning Commission Mrs. Kasturi Gupta Menon . The members are Joint Secretary (designate) Ministry of Home Affairs, Dept of J&K Affairs,Mrs Mitali Sen Gavai, and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Urban Employment and Poverty Alleviation, Mr. Pankaj Jain.

The team may co-opt members from any other ministry / Department if felt necessary. The team will be serviced by the Dept of J&K Affairs and will have to submit its report to the PMO within two months.
