Country cannot prosper until the women of the country progress: PM

The country cannot prosper until the women of the country progress and girls are given equal opportunities to study in schools and colleges. This was stated by the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh at a meeting with girls from the Urdu medium schools of Delhi on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi.

Greeting the children, Dr. Singh said that our constitution gives full freedom to the people to practice any religion of their choice, but it does not give anyone the license to criticize or run down other religions. He expressed satisfaction over the good results of the Urdu medium schools, saying that Urdu language is a living example of our Ganga-Jamuna tehzeeb. He said that his government has done much to promote Urdu, and assured that it would continue do all that is necessary to promote the language.
