PM reviews Implementation of NCMP

Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh chaired a meeting of senior officials in the Prime Minister's Office to review the status of implementation of the National Common Minimum Programme (NCMP).

The Prime Minister noted that over 70% of specific policy initiatives listed in the NCMP have been implemented. Various ministries and Groups of Ministers (GoMs) are processing some of the other initiatives where implementation requires inter-ministry coordination, concurrence of State Governments and amendments to the Constitution.

The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction at the pace of implementation of the NCMP and conveyed his appreciation of the PMO officials for regular monitoring of implementation and follow-up work with ministries and State Governments.

He also expressed his appreciation of the good work being done by all the ministries and departments of the Government of India in implementing the NCMPO.

The Prime Minister urged PMO officials to continue to keep a close vigil on NCMP implementation, and to prepare ministry-wise status reports on NCMP implementation.
