The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has condoled the demise of Shri Hari Bahadur Srivastava. In a condolence message the Prime Minister said :

"I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing away of a great son of India, Shri Hari Bahadur Srivastava. Shri Srivastava was a great patriot, a freedom fighter, and a veteran journalist. He worked closely with Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and other leaders of the Indian National Congress. He was a founder of the National Herald and Navjivan. Our country has greatly benefited from his dedication and commitment to our public life.

I convey my sincere condolences to his family members and all his admirers and followers."
