The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has greeted the nation on the auspicious occasion of Ravidas Jayanti.

In a message, the Prime Minister said that Guru Ravidas embodied the spirit of humility and dignity of work. Equally revered by the Hindus and Sikhs, the compositions of Guru Ravidas have been a source of knowledge and wisdom. His life and teachings would continue to inspire the egalitarian spirit of our society for all times to come, Dr. Singh added.
