PM condoles the loss of lives in Iran earthquake
The Prime Minister has condoled the loss of lives and destruction in the earthquake in Iran.
Dr. Manmohan Singh in a message, to President Ahmadinejad of Iran, offered all possible assistance to Iran in the relief efforts.
Excerpt of the Prime Minister's message is as follows:
"It is with deep sorrow that I learnt about the earthquake that struck the eastern region of Iran today.
The people of India join me in conveying our deepest condolences for the the loss of life, injury and destruction of property as a result of this natural disaster. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Iran. I am confident that with the support of your government, the people of Iran will respond to this tragedy with their characteristic resolve and resilience and will succeed in restoring normalcy quickly.
We are prepared to provide all assistance within our means to support your efforts to provide relief to the affected people."
