PM condoles the passing away of Shri Silvius Condpan

The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has condoled the passing away of Shri Silvius Condpan. In a message to the late leader's wife Smt. Teresa Condpan, Prime Minister described Shri Condpan as an experienced and committed leader who made important contributions to the development of Assam. He was deeply committed to the welfare of the tea estate workers and the poor and underprivileged sections of society, Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister's message is as follows:

"I was deeply grieved to lean of the passing away of your husband Shri Silvius Condpan. Shri Condpan was a two time member of the Rajya Sabha and one of the senior most leader of the Congress in Assam, having been an MLA for 25 years. As a Minister in the state government, he made important contributions to the development of Assam. He was deeply committed to the welfare of the tea estate workers and the poor and underprivileged sections of society.

In the passing away of Shri Condpan, Assam has lost one of its most experienced and committed leaders. I convey my sincere condolences to you, the family members and numerous friends and well-wishers of Shri Silvius Condpan. May his soul rest in peace."
