PM for development of Dr. Ambedkar Parinirvana memorial in Delhi

The Prime Minister reviewed the status of the Dr. Ambedkar Memorial located at 26, Alipore Road, Delhi, where Dr. Ambedkar achieved parinirvana and breathed his last. The Memorial presently consists of a photo gallery and a library and is housed in a bungalow located on around three acres of land.

After the review, the Prime Minister asked Shri Mukul Wasnik, Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment to take urgent steps to constitute a High Level Committee for the development of the Memorial. The Prime Minister stated that he strongly supports the idea that the monument devoted to the memory of Dr. B.R.Ambedkar should be developed in a manner befitting the memory of the great leader, in consultation with the stakeholders concerned.

In this context, the Prime Minister also met a delegation consisting of representatives of Dr. Ambedkar Parinirvana Bhoomi Samman Karyakram Samiti. Prime Minister assured the delegation that their concerns regarding the development of the monument will be given due consideration and in a timely manner.
