PM condoles the demise of veteran Parliamentarian Sashi Bhushan

The Prime Minister has condoled the passing away of veteran parliamentarian Sashi Bhushan. In a condolence message to the late leader's son Shri Prashant Bajpai the Prime Minster described Shri Sashi Bhushan as a veteran leader who will be remembered for his fine human qualities and commitment to the cause of the uplift of the poor.

The text of the Prime Minister's message is as follows :

"It is with profound grief that I learnt of the said demise of your father Shri Sashi Bhushan. Shri Bhushan was a veteran leader of the Congress Party and will be remembered for his fine human qualities and commitment to the cause of the uplift of the poor. Shri Sashi Bhushan served the country with dedication and commitment as a freedom fighter and later as a distinguished Member of Parliament. He later founded the Institute for Socialist Education which was awarded the National Communal Harmony award in 2006.

Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing away of Shri Sashi Bhushan. I pray for the peace of the departed soul."
