President Kalam’s Poetic Birthday Greetings to Poet PM

The President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam greeted the Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the Prime Minister’s 79th birthday, at the latter’s residence today.

Dr. Kalam presented Shri Vajpayee a bouquet of flowers and a greeting card with the following message, including a few lines from a poem penned by the President himself:

“May I wish you a very happy birthday. I would like to dedicate on this day the following verse to you:

“When guns are silent, Flowers blossom on the earth, Fragrance engulfs good souls, Who created beautiful silence.”
