A delegation of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) called on Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee today and submitted a memorandum. Among other things, member of the delegation presented their views on the recent Supreme Court judgment banning the right to strike of government employees. The Prime Minister gave a patient hearing and assured the delegation that the contents of the memorandum would be examined seriously. The Prime Minister's office clarifies that the BMS delegation's version of the meeting, as briefed to the media, does not correctly reflect the views expressed by the Prime Minister. Specifically, he did not say that the Supreme Court's judgment in this matter is only an ~advice~ and not an ~order~.
