PM condoles death of Leela Chitnis

The Prime Minister, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee has condoled the death of noted film actress Smt. Leela Chitnis who breathed her last at Danbury, USA on Sunday.

In a message, the Prime Minister said that Smt. Chitnis was a highly creative and educated woman, who joined the film industry in its formative years. She was a strong-willed woman who espoused the cause of women’s upliftment besides pursuing her film career. Her portrayal of the values and problems of Indian women on the screen will remain unforgettable.
