PM condoles death of Smt. Savita Ambedkar

The Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee has expressed deep grief over the demise of Smt. Savita Ambedkar, wife of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. She breathed her last in Mumbai this morning.

In a message from Berlin, Germany, the Prime Minister said that Savitaji was the principal source of inspiration to a legendary personality like Dr. B.R. Ambedkar who played a pivotal role in framing the Constitution of our country. Savitaji was a great social worker, in her own right, and remained dedicated to the task of upliftment of the weaker sections of the society. Her death has caused a void which will be difficult to fill.
