PM Greets nation on Makar Sankranti and Pongal

The Prime Minister, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee has greeted the nation on the auspicious festivals of Makar Sankranti and Pongal.

In his message, Shri Vajpayee said that Makar Sankranti and Pongal are harbingers of prosperity and goodwill, more so this year, as the air is filled with the promise of peace and progress for all. On these occasions we celebrate the glory of hard work of our farmers and rural folk who have a pivotal role to play in the noble endeavour of realising the mission of transforming India into a developed nation, the Prime Minister added.
