PM's greetings message to Zororastrians on Navroz

The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has greeted Zoroastrians all over the world on the occasion of their Shenshahi New Year on 20th Aug 2005. The Prime Minister's message on the occasion is as follows

" One of the Worlds most ancient faiths , the deep spiritual ethos of Zoroastrianism has profoundly influenced humanity over millennia. Its contributions to the cause of world peace, brotherhood and understanding are particularly noteworthy. The Zoroastrians are justly acclaimed worldwide for their industry, positive outlook, entrepreneurship and robust vision.

In our country , our Zoroastrian brethren have enriched the composite culture of India. They have remained in the forefront of the effort to promote the material , spiritual and scientific advancement of our nation. The four canons of Zoroastrianism : unity, non violence, self sacrifice and righteous life , articulate the theme of tolerance and understanding which are necessary to increase amity and fellow feeling in the world.

I have great pleasure in extending my greetings and good wishes to all Zoroastrians living in India and abroad for their health and happiness in the New year."
