PM condoles demise of Dr. Bhabendra Nath Saikia

The Prime Minister, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee has expressed grief at the demise of Dr. Bhabendra Nath Saikia, noted Assamese filmmaker and writer.

In a message, the Prime Minister said that Dr. Saikia was a man of multifarious hues and a filmmaker par excellence, whose films were acclaimed worldwide. Apart from his contribution to cinema, he made significant strides as a professor and educationist, who had a special concern for children’s upliftment, Shri Vajpayee said. His death has created a void, which is difficult to fill, the Prime Minister added.
